Retail & shopping centres
Retail & shopping centre air conditioning
Comfortable shopping environments through open doors, big glazing and changing footfall — from single units to whole centres and atriums.

What makes this different
- Open doors and large glazing create big, shifting heat gains.
- Footfall and trading hours make loads vary widely through the day.
- Common areas, atriums and individual units all need coordinating.
Our system approach
- VRF/VRV zoning per unit with common-area systems for malls and atriums.
- Air curtains and fresh air to manage open-door heat gain.
- Controls and metering for landlords and tenants.
What we look at in retail and shopping centres
Retail load is driven by things that have nothing to do with the weather. Open doors pull in outside air all day, display and accent lighting adds heat directly into the sales area, and footfall rises and falls with trading hours. We look at the door strategy first, because a trading policy of doors-open changes both the load and what the customer will experience near the entrance.
Comfort near the threshold is where most complaints start. Air curtains, entrance zoning and careful placement of indoor units matter more than raw capacity, since a shop that is comfortable at the back and unpleasant at the front still feels badly cooled. Fitting rooms, tills and stockrooms each behave differently and are worth treating as their own small zones.
In a centre, the split of responsibility drives the design. Landlord plant serving malls and atriums, tenant systems inside units, and the metering between them need to be clear before anything is installed. We also plan installation around trading hours, deliveries and public access, because retail work that disrupts trade costs the customer more than the equipment does.
How a project runs, end to end
One team, from the first drawing to aftercare.
- Design & specificationSite survey, load assessment, system selection and a clear specification of what's included.
- Factory-direct supplyEquipment procured and, where needed, exported directly through our manufacturing network.
- InstallationProgramme-managed installation, phased around your operation and access.
- Testing & handoverSystems tested, balanced and handed over with controls set up and staff shown the essentials.
- Maintenance & aftercarePlanned maintenance and support to keep performance and warranties intact.
